Afra Jameel is a clinical psychologist with a BSc (Honours) in Psychology from Coventry University, UK, and an MPhil in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colombo. With over five years in the mental health field, Afra specializes in trauma processing and has worked with diverse populations. Her exposure to violence and abuse against women, especially during her part-time work at a shelter, has given her deep insight into the challenges faced by young girls and women. At Emerge, Afra finds great reward in helping these resilient young women transition into the community, fostering autonomy, independence, and resilience. Her dedication lies in empowering them to approach life and relationships with a healthier mindset.
